It has been brought to our attention that customers may be receiving telephone calls regarding “problems” with water and sewer service. The calls are coming from out of town telephone numbers and the caller may suggest that CMD is moving to another state. The caller may also ask for credit card information to pay a balance on an account.
DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU CLAIMING TO BE A CMD EMPLOYEE.
Chester Metropolitan District will NEVER call customers and request payment information over the phone. The ONLY way CMD customers should make payments over the phone is by CALLING our IVR telephone number at (833) 209-4044.
CMD staff will only call customers from local telephone numbers, and will not ask you to make payment over the phone to them. If CMD staff does call you for any reason at all, they will not be offended if you request to call our office back from the number on your bill or found here on our website and confirm their identity. We take customer security very seriously and we want our customers to feel comfortable with the person to whom they talk.
